wind, waves and warm water
Wind and Waves
Between April and November the tradewinds are very present in Rote. Creating perfect smooth waves for surfing at T-Land Nemberala, but it’s also the pefect area if you want to utulise the wind for other sports. There are several different spots for windsurfing and kitesurfing in the Nemberala area.
Bring Small sails or kites though, the wind is regularly between 18 and 30 knots.
PARADISE
Surf, Sail, Windsurf, Kitesurf, Prone Foil or WingFoil, all is possible in Rote. The wind is usually straight offshore between 12 and 20 knots, keeping the surf smooth, but it also creates ideal wind surf conditions.
The first windsurf video on the right is at Loedi (kite) beach, which offshore onshore bump / jump freeide windsurfing conditions. For kitesurfers low to mid tide creates very smooth water conditions.
The bottom video (wingfoiling) is 200 meter right out in front of the house. With smooth wingfoiling conditions for beginners to expert foilers.
Perfection
Jason Polakow visited a few years ago and defined windsurfing perfection by going out at T-Land and found tricky wind, but perfect waves. T-land is for expert windsurfers only, and generally not windsurf friendly, the surfers can still enjoy the clean waves even with 30+ knots of wind.
There are other spots in the area where you are not interfering with the surfers though
Great conditions
Because of the offshore winds at Nemberala, it ccreates pretty flat water. Bring your own wingfoiling gear, get out with a boat and learn to wingfoil.
